An ABC film crew accompanied LIFESAVER inventor Michael Pritchard on his recent trip to Haiti so they could capture on film how Cholera has been eliminated from one Haitian village – all thanks to the LIFESAVER jerrycan.
The footage features the village of Lubin, Haiti. Last year this village fell prey to a cholera epidemic as a result of drinking the contaminated lake water nearby. This epidemic left several dead and the rest thirsty and unable to drink the plentiful but contaminated water on their doorstep.
American charity Operation Blessing came to Lubin’s rescue with the LIFESAVER aid jerrycan. A year on, the village of Lubin is a happier and healthier place thanks to the work of Operation Blessing and the LIFESAVER jerrycan. Cholera is no longer a worry and clean water is in plentiful supply.
